Hey good news for (non-) readers: CJJ has made some more state lists! (Thank you Florida, Oregon, Maine and Georgia, but sorry, you guys are yesterday’s news.) Here are some of the new states, and some other things I love about them, in addition to their awesome taste in books.

ARIZONA – Charlie joe has been named a Grand Canyon Readers Award nominee. Can I just go on record as saying that RAISING ARIZONA is one of my favorite movies?

MISSISSIPPI – Charlie Joe is on the Magnolia Awards list. Mmmmmm… Mississippi Mud Pie…

SOUTH CAROLINA – Hey look, it’s the South Carolina Junior Book Awards! Which reminds me, I went to Charleston once and it was the prettiest place I’ve ever seen.

OKLAHOMA – The Sequoyah Book Awards – definitely not a list for bad spellers – has welcomed Charlie Joe! If you’re a Rodgers and Hammerstein geek, like I am, this is definitely a big deal.

So thank you to these great states! Thank you for embracing that rascally Yankee, Charlie Joe!
