Tommy Greenwald’s Guide to Things That Have Not Happened To His Book So Far

So, Charlie Joe’s been out three weeks and it’s been fantastic! Lots of great events, lots of people liking the book, and tons of good things happening.

But since the book is called Charlie Joe Jackson’s Guide To NOT Reading, I thought I’d take a minute and talk about all the things that have NOT happened.

The book has NOT landed on the New York Times Bestseller list.

The book has NOT appeared as part of Al Roker’s Book Club for kids.

The book has NOT received a movie deal.

The book has NOT been cited as one of the 100 Best Books by the Library Of Congress.

The book has NOT replaced the Bible as the best selling book of all time.

The book has NOT been called ‘The New Harry Potter” by anyone I know.

The book has NOT been referred to as “The One Book I Wish I’d Written” by J.K. Rowling.

The book has NOT been called “Better than the Wimpy Kid Books” by Jeff Kinney.

The book has NOT been turned into a musical by the South Park guys.

The book has NOT, as yet, solved the debt ceiling crisis.

BUT… I’ve been told that the book has been enjoyed by a number of kids so far, and some reluctant readers to boot! How awesome is that? And to tell you the truth, that kind of thing is way more important to me than some silly bestseller list or movie deal.

NOT.
