FAMILY VACATION = OXYMORON
July 8, 2012
So I just got back from nine days in Europe with my wife, Cathy, and my three boys, Charlie, Joe and Jack.
It was exhausting.
It was so exhausting, I immediately got sick when I got home. I’m writing right now between sneezes.
We did five cities, three countries, six train rides, fourteen surly French waiters, four hotels, one broken curfew and countless semi-naked women in Amsterdam windows.
We also did four amazing tours, two d-day beaches, one fairy-tale city (Brugge, Belgium), fourteen incredible French meals, and the most moving sight I’ve ever seen – the American cemetery at Omaha Beach.
The whole trip was unforgettable.
But I could use a vacation.
